Stenson is well equipped with a heated paint workshop within the marina. The various traditional narrowboat styles and
modern paintwork schemes can all be accomodated with an eye on the atmospheric conditions which affect paint systems.
Boats are carefully prepared prior to applying new paintwork. Areas suffering from heavy corrosion are treated with heavy sanding or grinding as applicable and treated with primers, before applying the base undercoats ready for the gloss top coats. Decks, cabin roof and gunwales are treated with non-slip, anti-reflective coatings.
Various paintwork styles can be chosen from simple single colour cabins with coach line to separate colour cabin panels, borders, coachline and handrails. The work at Stenson is well known for both its traditional styles, with scumbled features and also for some modern contemporary styles.
